Healing Doesn’t Mean Hustling
Jun 25, 2025
I used to think healing meant effort.
That it was a checklist I could complete, a journey with clear mile markers.
That if I could just do enough inner work, I’d finally feel at peace.
A start and an end.
So I dove in, the only way I knew how, headfirst and all-in.
Classes. Courses. Certifications. Books. Podcasts. Therapy. Retreats. Journaling. Meditating.
I approached healing with the same energy I brought to every part of my life: ambition, intensity, and an unrelenting drive to “get it right” or “make it better.”
And you know what? I burned out, again.
But this time, I wasn’t burning out from work.
I was burning out from my healing.
Because no one tells you that healing, when approached through the lens of performance, can become another form of pressure.
A different kind of perfectionism.
A quieter kind of self-abandonment.
It’s sneaky.
We tell ourselves we’re “doing the work,” but beneath that is the same old fear:
If I don’t keep improving, I won’t be worthy of love, peace, success, or belonging.
But the truth is…
Healing isn’t something you earn.
It’s something you allow.
It’s less about fixing and more about witnessing.
Less about becoming someone new, and more about remembering who you’ve always been.
It’s the brave, slow work of sitting with yourself, without judgment, without a timeline, without the need to turn it into a brand or a breakthrough.
Healing invites us to stop chasing and start softening.
To listen to our bodies, not override them.
To rest without guilt.
To speak without apology.
To feel without shame.
And most of all…
Healing teaches us that we are still whole even in the unraveling.
Even in the pause.
Even in the pieces we’ve been told to hide.
So if you’re tired of trying to “get it right,”
If you’ve been quietly hustling for worthiness in your own growth journey…
Let this be your permission slip to stop.
To exhale.
To be.
You’re already enough.
And the parts of you that feel messy or unfinished?
They’re not proof of failure.
They’re proof that you’re human.
You’re unraveling.
Unbecoming…
Still healing.
Still worthy.
Still whole.
With you in the unbecoming…
